Ndokwa East Distribute 27000 Face Masks to Constituents, Plans to Acquire More

ABOH/Nigeria: The Ndokwa East Local Government Chairman, Hon Juan Governor  had distributed a total number of 700 facemasks received from the state government to enforce its public use in the state as a result of the Coronavirus disease preventive measures.

The chairman in a Press Release on the 29 of April, 2020 stated that the priority of distribution was based on   Artisans, Okada Riders,   Market women, Essential workers, Security personnel, Food Sellers, Salons, Drivers, Office workers, Aged persons, and others that will be considered.

The release stated that the facemasks were handed over to the Councilors of each ward as follows,

  1. Okwuwa Ezechi and Odili Ernest 50 packs (2,500 peices) for ward 6 and 7
  2. b) Hon. Iwube 30 packs (1,500 pieces) for ward 15.
  3. c) Hon. Prince Okwokwo and Friday Edemenya 60 packs (3,000 pieces) for wards 12 and 13.
  4. d) Hon. Ebinum Emiri 30 packs (1,500 pieces) for ward 14
  5. e) Hon. Bibby Oduneka and Tennyson 60 packs (3,000 pieces) for wards 17 and 18
  6. f) Hon. Achi Donatus and Raymond Nwabuoke 90 packs (4,500 pieces ) for wards 3, 4 and 5
  7. g) Hon. Eugene Okocha and Patricia Chibogu 60 packs (3,000 pieces) for wards 1 and 2.
  8. h) Hon. James Obi, Azuka Opene, Okwuwa Ugbome and Helen Dimaro 100 packs (5,000 pieces) for wards 8, 9, 10 and 11.
  9. i) Hon. Friday Amalaka and Matilda Onyemgba 40 packs (2,000 pieces) for wards 16 and 20
  10. j) Hon. Ashaka Cletus 20 packs (1,000 pieces) for ward 19

it could be recalled that the state government in partially lifting the lockdown imposed  on the state as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic stated among measures, the compulsory use of the facemasks in public places by all persons in Delta state, which is in alignment with that of the Federal Government.

The chairman however pointed out that the quantity received from the state government but arrangement is been made with some Non-Governmental Organizations to acquire more for the council to be distributed.
