NPDC Signs MOU With Host Communities

A Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMOU) has been signed between the National Petroleum Development Company and its host communities, where thirty facilities are situated in Delta State and Delta State Government.
The Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama SAN who midwife the signing of the MOU on behalf of the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan said that the Delta State Government`s decision to take active role in brokering the GMoU is borne out of its policy to ensure that an enabling environment is provided for investors to carry out their business in an atmosphere of peace and security.
While calling on the operators to show the same measure of sincerity that governed the negotiation process in the operation of the Global Memorandum of Understanding, said government will on its part hold the parties to compliance with the terms of agreement.
The Deputy Governor however advised that to reduce friction in the relationship, adequate capacity building and training of the operators of the GMoU agreement should be put in place.
The Managing Director NPDC, Mr. Anthony Muoneke said that singing of the GMoU would no doubt help to concretize the relationship between the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company and its host communities. He all the same solicited the understanding and co-operation of its host communities henceforth.
