The Two Patrol Vehicles decorated before Commissioning
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the management of Platform/Newcross joint venture, the operators of the Egbaoma Oil Field, in Adonishaka, Ukwuani LGA, had donated two patrol Hilux Vehicles to the Nigeria police Divisions in Obiaruku and Umutu Divisions, the donations were done at Umutu on 26th May 2015.

He however reassured the people of Ukwuani Local government Area of the preparedness of the Police to reduce crime in the area to the barest minimum.

Contributing, the Base Manager of Platform Petroleum Limited Chief Austin Abaneme noted that the enviable role of the Police in their area of operation was responsible for the hitch-free activates enjoyed by the company, hence the inevitable need to encourage them through the donation of the Hilux Patrol Vans.

Director of Platform Petroleum Limited Mr. Emmanuel Konyebagu, pointed out that the cordial relationship existing between the Police and Platform Petroleum Limited dates back to time of inception of the company.
The donation he said was part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities aimed at impacting on communities within areas of their operations noting that the police is continually in the front burner in matters of crime control and prevention and should be encouraged.
Responding, the Assistant Commissioner of Police and Area Commander, Delta North, ACP Atahiru Isah, who represented the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Alkali Baba Usman who could not hide his feelings showered praises on Platform Petroleum Limited and their partners for the donation pointing out that mobility was one of the challenges facing the force among others and promised not to let the company down as the vehicles will be put to proper use in order to enhance the job of protecting lives and properties of the citizenry. The Divisional Police Officer of Obiaruku Division whose Division was also a beneficiary of Platform Petroleum Limited’s kind gesture promised on behalf of his division to bring crime in his area of jurisdiction to a standstill while also calling on Platform Petroleum to look into the area of accommodation for officers of the division as that will be an added inducement for performance of their duties.
Highlight of the occasion was the commissioning of the vehicles and test driving by the Group Managing Director of Platform Petroleum Limited Mr. Emmanuel Konyebagu and the Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Atahiru Isah.
The ceremony was witnessed by Management of Platform Petroleum Limited, Police Community Relations Committee representatives and community chiefs.
