Delta State Commissioner Urges Elimination of Service Delays for MORE Agenda

ASABA/Nigeria: In a resolute move towards expediting service delivery, Delta State Commissioner of Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, has issued a firm directive for the eradication of unnecessary bottlenecks hindering public service in the state. Dr. Osuoza emphasized the critical need for collaboration between civil servants and political office holders to actualize the key objectives of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda.

Speaking during a visit by Senior Policy Adviser Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon to the state ministry of information, Dr. Osuoza underscored the significance of SERVICOM as a symbol of the social contract between the government and citizens. He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to partnering with the Senior Policy Adviser to advocate for effective, timely, fair, and honest service delivery across all government agencies.

Dr. Osuoza reiterated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s unwavering support for a revamped public service devoid of deliberate delays. He urged the Senior Policy Adviser to implement appropriate mechanisms for the prompt resolution of complaints stemming from service failures in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Mr. Lucky Omokri, JP, the Fn. Permanent Secretary, outlined the Ministry’s functions, emphasizing its role in disseminating government policies and programs, managing feedback mechanisms, and overseeing the printing of government gazettes.

Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon affirmed the SERVICOM team’s commitment to revitalizing SERVICOM units across MDAs. He stressed the urgency of improving service delivery in line with Governor Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, emphasizing the pivotal role of timely, honest, fair, and effective service delivery in its realization.

The presentation of the Service Compact document to the Commissioner for Information marked a pivotal moment in the drive towards enhanced service delivery in Delta State.
