PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has applauded former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Rivers Governor Chibuike Amaechi, ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Senate President David Mark, Dr. Umar Ardo, and others for what he described as their patriotic effort to rescue Nigeria’s democracy. Eze praised their decision to seek registration of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as a political party.

Eze’s statement followed the formal application by ADA’s protem leaders, Chief Akin Ricketts and Abdullahi Elayo, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), seeking the party’s registration. The request was made on behalf of the Nigerian National Coalition Group, which is sponsoring ADA for full political association status.

In a statement on Monday, Eze described the move as a bold step to save Nigeria from what he termed “scavengers” and anti-democratic forces. He commended the leaders for their “foresight, commitment, and patriotism” in pushing for change. According to him, ADA’s emergence offers hope for reclaiming Nigeria from “despots and nepotists” who have plunged the nation into insecurity, poverty, and ridicule before the international community.

Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of its Legacy Projects Media Team, said the coalition behind ADA represents some of Nigeria’s most influential, grassroots-oriented, and visionary politicians. He expressed confidence that the alliance would help deliver the country from “misfits, autocrats, and clueless leaders.”

He further declared that President Bola Tinubu should begin preparations for his exit from office, accusing him of inflicting colossal damage on the nation’s democracy and economy within two years of what Eze described as a “stolen mandate.” He said Nigerians must reject the maladministration, corruption, and nepotism that have characterized the current government.

Eze described ADA’s formation as timely and necessary, calling it the best political alignment to steer Nigeria towards national rebirth and purposeful leadership. He urged Nigerians to rally behind the movement to secure the nation’s future.
