
OBIARUKU/Nigeria: In a bold step toward advancing its Human Capital Development and Sustainable Empowerment goals, the Ukwuani Local Government Council has announced the opening of applications for the recruitment of qualified drivers.
A statement issued by Mr. Osondu Chukunomnazu, Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), and made available to the press, outlines a detailed application process aimed at ensuring only qualified, experienced drivers are selected.
Applicants must submit a one-page typed and well-formatted application letter in person. The submission must include two recent passport photographs with a red background, a certificate of local government of origin, a birth certificate or age declaration, a letter of introduction signed and stamped by the applicant’s traditional ruler, a valid driver’s license, and a trade test certificate. All requirements are mandatory.
Only applicants between the ages of 30 and 50 will be considered. The council emphasized that applications submitted by proxy will not be accepted under any circumstances.
The application window opens on Monday, June 30, 2025, and closes on Friday, July 11, 2025. All submissions must be delivered directly to the Secretary to the Local Government at the council secretariat in Obiaruku.
This recruitment drive is seen as a significant opportunity for skilled drivers within Ukwuani to gain employment under a government that has consistently championed inclusive empowerment and grassroots development.
