ASABA/Nigeria: The Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM) has announced a 50 percent reduction in membership induction fees for participants and trainers of the Delta State Communication Workshop (DELCOM), including practicing journalists and media practitioners in the state.
The development follows a mutual agreement between DELCOM and CIISM, designed to ease access to professional certification and encourage wider participation in the Institute’s programmes.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar of CIISM, Dr. Adelanke Oyintoke, the concession applies to all participants of the previous five editions of DELCOM and the upcoming sixth edition scheduled for 2025. The discounted fees are fixed at N170,000 for Fellowship and N110,000 for Full Membership, covering both application and induction charges.
Under the new structure, Fellowship is open to senior government officials, Executive Assistants on Media, Special Advisers to the Governor of Delta State, DELCOM trainers, Directors and Assistant Directors in the Ministry of Information, as well as journalists with at least ten years of experience, online news publishers, and bloggers. Full Membership applies to Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants on Media, journalists with at least five years of practice, and Chief or Assistant Information Officers in the Ministry of Information.
While emphasizing that membership of CIISM is not compulsory, Dr. Oyintoke noted that the certification offers recognition as a Chartered Information and Strategy Manager, with members entitled to all rights and privileges, including automatic qualification to attend future national and international conferences, workshops, and African Union special events.
The induction ceremony for successful applicants will be conducted by the CIISM President and Council Registrar on Wednesday, October 8, during Day Three of the DELCOM 2025 Workshop at Hotel Benizia, Asaba.
Prospective members have been advised to make payments into the Institute’s Unity Bank account and forward evidence of payment with their full names and category of membership to the DELCOM Coordinator, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, who is also a CIISM Council member.
The Registrar assured that the initiative underscores the Institute’s commitment to professional growth in the information and strategy management sector, while strengthening collaboration with DELCOM and the media community in Delta State.
