ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Bureau of Local Government Pensions has announced plans to embark on a sensitisation and enlightenment tour across all 25 local government areas of the state, beginning October 7, 2025, in Warri North.

Chairman of the Bureau, Mr. Ben Igo, said the initiative is aimed at engaging and enlightening stakeholders on ongoing reforms in the Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme, with a view to improving efficiency and service delivery.

The tour, he explained, will feature officials from relevant arms of the state government, the National Pension Commission (PenCom), and Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs). It will also target critical stakeholders, including local government chairmen, principal officers and staff of councils, education secretaries, staff of local government education authorities, and the Association of Contributory Retirees.

According to the schedule, the programme will kick off in Warri North before moving to Ethiope West and Sapele in its first week. The full itinerary has been communicated to local government councils and education authorities across the state.

Mr. Igo stressed that the exercise would help build confidence among contributors, improve transparency, and ensure better understanding of the contributory pension reforms underway in Delta State.
