ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta Unity Alliance (DUA) has reaffirmed that the current leadership direction in Delta State enjoys widespread public support, insisting that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has earned a clear and overwhelming mandate for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by Barr. Timothy Emeje, Initiator and Chairman, Board of Trustees, and Mr. Solomon Ebinum, Executive Assistant (Political) / Director-General, the Alliance praised the governor’s leadership as transformative, people-focused, and firmly rooted in measurable achievements across critical sectors.
The DUA highlighted Oborevwori’s strides in infrastructure renewal, the clearing of long-standing pension arrears, progressive education reforms, and empowerment initiatives targeting youths and women. These, it said, have repositioned Delta State on a path of accelerated growth.
“Governor Oborevwori has shown unwavering commitment to the people of Delta State. His track record reflects not only progress but also integrity, transparency, and accountability,” the statement noted.
According to the Alliance, the governor’s performance has generated strong statewide endorsement, with many residents expressing a preference for continuity and stability as the 2027 elections draw closer. The group stressed that Oborevwori’s re-election bid is a popular mandate driven by results, not rhetoric.
Calling on political parties, civil society, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders to respect the prevailing will of the people, the DUA reaffirmed its readiness to mobilise support and coordinate strategic engagements ahead of the polls.
“The people have already made their choice. Oborevwori’s re-election is non-negotiable, and we stand united in making that vision a reality,” the Alliance declared.
With the DUA pledging full backing for the governor’s second-term project, the group said Delta State is poised for continuity, deeper reforms, and sustained development under the results-driven leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
