
ASABA/Nigeria: Senator Ede Dafinone of the Delta Central Senatorial District has extended warm felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Obukowho Monday Whiskey, as the revered monarch marks his 60th birthday alongside the fifth anniversary of his coronation as the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the double celebration on Sunday, January 18, 2026, the senator described the milestone as a testament to God’s grace, a fulfilled life of service, and a reign firmly rooted in wisdom, peace, and dignity. He noted that the twin anniversaries underscore both personal accomplishment and enduring institutional leadership.
Reflecting on the monarch’s ascension to the throne five years ago, Dafinone said the event heralded a new era of purposeful traditional leadership in Idjerhe Kingdom. According to him, the reign of Udurhie I has been characterised by unity, stability, and a renewed sense of pride in cultural heritage, while promoting peaceful coexistence and strengthening communal bonds among the people.
The senator particularly commended the monarch for exemplifying a rare blend of tradition and intellectual excellence, describing him as a ruler of deep academic distinction and enlightened worldview.
