
ASABA/Nigeria: The Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated former Speaker of the 5th Delta State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, on the occasion of his 57th birthday, describing him as a distinguished statesman whose legacy continues to resonate within and beyond the state.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Speaker Guwor praised Ochei’s sterling leadership and notable accomplishments during his tenure as Speaker between 2011 and 2014, noting that his stewardship left a lasting imprint on the legislative arm of government in Delta State.
Ochei, who also served as Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), where he at a time acted as Executive Director, Operations, is currently the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF).
Guwor described the former Speaker as a brilliant, forward-thinking and dedicated public servant who has made meaningful contributions to governance, institutional development and national growth.
According to him, Ochei’s depth of experience, wealth of knowledge and unwavering commitment to public service remain invaluable assets not only to Delta State but to Nigeria as a whole.
“Ochei’s leadership in the Delta State Assembly was top-notch, and his legacy is very inspiring in the state and beyond. As he celebrates this milestone, I pray that God will bless him with many more years of fruitful service to humanity,” Guwor stated.
The Speaker also commended Ochei’s passion for sports development, particularly his role as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, expressing confidence that he would continue to contribute significantly to the advancement of sports in the country.
He prayed for continued good health, wisdom and strength for the celebrant, wishing him many more years of impactful service.
