ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ede Dafinone of Delta Central Senatorial District on Thursday night hosted a high-level gathering of party stakeholders in Abuja, setting the tone for unity and strategic alignment ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention holding at Eagle Square.

The dinner, held at Nkoyo Restaurant, Ceddi Plaza, brought together influential political figures, party leaders, and elected officials from Delta Central, in what observers described as a deliberate move to consolidate cohesion within the fold before the crucial convention.

Dafinone said the informal engagement was designed to welcome leaders who had travelled to the Federal Capital Territory and provide an opportunity for meaningful interaction ahead of the party’s national exercise.

“Last night in Abuja, I had the pleasure of hosting a dinner at Nkoyo Restaurant, Ceddi Plaza, for our respected leaders from Delta Central who travelled in ahead of the APC National Convention starting today at Eagle Square,” he said.

Describing the evening as relaxed but strategic, the lawmaker noted that the engagement allowed stakeholders to reconnect, exchange views, and reinforce a shared commitment to the party’s success.

The gathering attracted a strong array of political heavyweights, including Chief Ighoyota Amori, Chief John Oguma, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Delta Central APC Vice Chairman Chief Ovie Agas, Chief Kingsley Esiso, Chief Isaac Akpoveta, Olorogun Bernard Edewor, Dr. Mrs Augustina Erah, Chief Mrs Tina Brown, and Oniemo Faith Majemite.

Also in attendance were members of the Delta State House of Assembly led by Deputy Speaker Arthur Akpowowo, alongside Chief Perkins Umukoro, Chief James Augoye, Hon. Edafe Emakpor, Hon. Matthew Omonade, Hon. Festus Utuama, and Hon. Benson Obire.

Council chairmen from across the senatorial district were equally represented, led by the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Delta State Chapter, Chief Isaiah Onoriode Esiovwa. Other attendees included Chief Bright Abeke, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, Dr. Lucky Avweromre, Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, and Olorogun Vincent Oyibode.

Commissioners Hon. Onoriode Agofure and Hon. Ejiro Jamani, as well as APC local government party chairmen and secretaries, also graced the event, underscoring the breadth of participation and the importance attached to the engagement.

Political observers noted that the convergence of key stakeholders reflects a growing effort to strengthen internal unity within Delta Central APC, particularly as the party prepares to reposition itself ahead of future electoral contests.

Dafinone expressed optimism about the outcome of the convention, urging delegates and stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and uphold the values of the party.

“As the convention begins today, I wish all participants a peaceful and successful outing,” he said, reaffirming the party’s guiding mantra, “APC – Renewed Hope for More Agenda.”

With the convention underway, the Abuja gathering is widely seen as a strategic prelude, reinforcing solidarity among Delta Central leaders and positioning the bloc for greater influence within the party’s national structure.
