ABUJA/Nigeria: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and aspirant for Ndokwa West State Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. John Ikechukwu Ozegbe, has warmly welcomed party delegates, stakeholders, and leaders from across the country to the 2026 APC National Convention holding in Abuja.

Ozegbe, in a statement ahead of the March 27–28 convention, described the gathering as a critical moment for the party to deepen unity, strengthen internal democracy, and chart a progressive course for both the APC and the nation.

Speaking against the backdrop of what he termed the successful conduct of the APC South-South Zonal Congress in Asaba, the youthful politician noted that the convention presents an opportunity for party members to consolidate gains and reinforce a shared vision for national development.

“The National Convention is not just a routine exercise; it is an opportunity to foster unity and collective purpose among members, while strengthening our internal democratic processes and setting a clear direction for the future of our party and country,” Ozegbe stated.

He expressed confidence in the consensus model adopted by the party for the convention, noting that it would further enhance cohesion and solidify the APC’s standing as a formidable political force.

According to him, the consensus approach reflects the party’s maturity and its ability to manage internal dynamics through dialogue and inclusiveness.

Ozegbe also paid tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his leadership style and strategic direction, which he said continues to inspire confidence within the party and among Nigerians.

“The President’s visionary leadership and political courage have provided the needed direction for the APC, fostering unity and progress at all levels,” he said.

He further lauded Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; former Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; and the leadership of the APC in Delta State for what he described as their roles in ensuring a peaceful and well-organised South-South Zonal Congress.

Ozegbe noted that the seamless conduct of the zonal exercise reflects growing cohesion within the party in the state and a commitment to inclusive leadership.

He urged delegates and participants at the national convention to prioritise unity, discipline, and collective interest, stressing that the success of the convention would have far-reaching implications for the party’s future.

“As we converge in Abuja, I call on all delegates to work together in the spirit of unity and purpose to ensure a peaceful, productive, and successful convention,” he added.

With the APC set to elect its national leadership, Ozegbe’s message underscores the growing momentum within the party as it prepares to consolidate its structures ahead of future electoral engagements.
