ABUJA/Nigeria: Chukwuemeke K. Victor, aspirant for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, has declared that humanity must take precedence over politics as he announced the suspension of all consultations and political activities in honour of the late Mrs. Isioma Dafe, popularly known as Mayaki.

The decision follows the death of the wife of the Member representing Ukwuani Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukudi Dafe, a development that has cast a pall of grief across the constituency.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Victor appealed to constituents to set aside political engagements and join in mourning with the lawmaker, describing the moment as one of shared sorrow for the entire Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency.

“My good people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, I sincerely plead with everyone to take a break from politics as we join our dear brother, friend and lawmaker, Hon. Chukudi Dafe, to mourn the passing of his beloved wife,” he said.

He emphasized that the passing of the deceased should not be seen as a private loss alone, but a collective bereavement affecting families and communities across Ndokwa and Ukwuani.

Victor stressed that continuing political consultations at such a time would be inappropriate, noting that compassion, empathy and solidarity must guide the actions of leaders and followers alike.

To underscore his position, the aspirant announced the immediate suspension of all his programmes and grassroots consultations, urging supporters and stakeholders to align with the directive in honour of the deceased.

“This is not a time for political fanfare but a time to grieve with one of our own. I have directed that all programmes and consultations be put on hold as we mourn our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend,” he added.

He further described the late Mrs. Isioma Dafe (Mayaki) as a cherished figure whose memory will endure in the hearts of many, while extending heartfelt condolences to Hon. Dafe and his family.

Victor prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and for the peaceful repose of the deceased.

“May her kind soul rest in perfect peace,” he said.
