OSUBI/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections across the state, describing the exercise as a strong reflection of the unity, transparency, and growing strength of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Oborevwori, who spoke shortly after casting his vote in his ward in Okpe Local Government Area during the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency primary election, expressed satisfaction with the level of participation and the calm atmosphere that characterised the exercise.

“You can see the peaceful manner in which the primary election for the House of Representatives in the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency was conducted. The people are happy, united and satisfied with the process,” the governor stated.

Oborevwori noted that the large turnout of party members demonstrated the growing acceptance of the APC across Delta State, expressing confidence that the same spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence displayed during the primaries would be sustained during the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Chief Bernard Jagboro and Hon. Madis Emerorota, who served as agents to Hon. In Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, the exercise was equally peaceful as the Chairman of the National Assembly Primaries Committee for Delta State, Rt. Hon. Eugene Odo, commended party members for the orderly and transparent conduct of the primaries across the state.

Odo disclosed that the committee monitored the exercise in several parts of the state and observed that the process progressed smoothly without violence or disruption. According to him, the adoption of direct primaries ensured a democratic process that began from the ward level through local government areas up to the constituency collation centres.

“This is an actual public meeting and we have gone to some places to monitor the House of Representatives primaries in Delta State. So far, we have found that the primaries are going on peacefully,” Odo stated while commending party members for their orderly conduct throughout the exercise.

Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu was subsequently declared winner of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency primary election by the returning officer, Mr. Val Arenyeka, after collation of results at the Oshimili South Local Government Council Secretariat.
