ASABA/Nigeria: An Afrobeat Cultural Festival aimed at promoting youth empowerment and combating drug abuse and other social vices will hold in Asaba on August 1, 2026.
The event is being organised by the Gateway to Better Life Foundation Inc. in collaboration with DASH Foundation Inc., USA, and the Davido International Supporters Group (DIS-G).
With the theme, “Celebrating the Impact of Davido on African Music, Youth Culture and National Unity,” the festival will take place at Uzoigwe Primary School, Nnebisi Road, Asaba, beginning at 12 noon.
According to the organisers, the festival will use Afrobeat music as a platform to raise awareness on the dangers of drug abuse, advocate support for victims of addiction and promote a healthier, safer society.
The event will also celebrate the influence of Nigerian music star Davido on African music, youth development and national unity.
Activities lined up for the festival include a cultural parade, talent hunt, youth empowerment sessions, anti-drug awareness campaign, musical performances, community recognition awards and a free medical outreach.
In a statement jointly signed by the Convener, Amb. Rev. Chukwudi Eke, and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Comrade Sam Ijeh, the organisers said the event would also feature the unveiling of the Davido Legacy Book, which documents the artiste’s contributions to African music, youth empowerment and the global entertainment industry.
They added that participants are expected from the 25 local government areas of Delta State and other parts of the country.
