ASABA/Nigeria: The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orhue I, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, mni, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his coronation, drawing tributes from political leaders, traditional institutions and prominent sons and daughters of the kingdom.
Among those who paid tribute was Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, describing the monarch’s two decades on the throne as a period of peaceful leadership, unity and sustained development in Okpe Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message released to commemorate the anniversary, Dafinone said the royal father’s reign has strengthened traditional institutions, promoted harmony among the people and enhanced the standing of the kingdom within Delta State and beyond.
The senator noted that the monarch’s leadership has contributed to political and economic advancement in Okpe Kingdom while fostering an atmosphere of peace and stability that has encouraged development.
Speaking on behalf of the Dafinone family, the people of Delta Central Senatorial District and the Urhobo Nation, he described the anniversary as a significant milestone worthy of celebration.
According to him, the Orodje’s commitment to justice, peace and service has earned him respect across the country and helped preserve the cultural heritage and identity of the Okpe people.
Dafinone thanked God for preserving the traditional ruler throughout the past two decades and prayed for continued good health, wisdom and strength as he continues to lead the kingdom.
He expressed confidence that the monarch’s reign would continue to serve as a symbol of peace, cultural pride and sustainable development for future generations.
The Orodje of Okpe, who ascended the throne two decades ago, remains one of the most respected traditional rulers in Delta State and the Niger Delta, with his reign widely associated with efforts to promote peace, unity and the preservation of the customs and traditions of the Okpe Kingdom.
