ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has hailed the contributions of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orhue I, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, to peace-building, traditional leadership and governance as the revered monarch marks 20 years on the throne.
The Governor’s position was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, to commemorate the monarch’s 20th coronation anniversary.
Oborevwori described the Orodje as a respected traditional ruler whose leadership has continued to strengthen peace, unity and stability within Okpe Kingdom and across Delta State.
He noted that the monarch’s dual responsibility as the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council has enabled him to make significant contributions to conflict resolution, community development and the promotion of harmonious relationships among the state’s diverse communities.
According to the Governor, the royal father’s two decades on the throne have been distinguished by purposeful leadership, wise counsel and unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the Okpe people.
He also acknowledged the monarch’s support for government initiatives aimed at promoting peace and development, describing him as a dependable partner in advancing good governance across the state.
Oborevwori commended the Orodje for his fatherly guidance and dedication to the welfare of his subjects, saying his reign has continued to inspire confidence and respect within the traditional institution.
The Governor prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and strength for the monarch, expressing hope that his reign would continue to bring peace, unity and sustainable development to Okpe Kingdom.
He also congratulated the people of Okpe Kingdom and members of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council on the milestone, urging continued support for the traditional ruler’s efforts to foster harmony and progress.
His Royal Majesty Orhue I, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, ascended the throne in 2006 and currently serves as Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council.
