BENIN-CITY/Nigeria: The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, will on Thursday, October 29, 2026, lay his mother-in-law, Mrs Grace Sarah Ikeke Omoaregbe, to rest in Edo State.
The funeral Mass for the deceased, who died at the age of 84, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ovbiomu-Emai, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Mrs Omoaregbe, who lived from 1942 to 2026, was the mother of Mrs Mary Nwaeke and mother-in-law of Mr Nwaeke, who serves as Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.
According to the funeral announcement, a reception for relatives, friends and other guests will hold on Saturday, October 31, at 11:00 a.m. at the Military Hospital Compound, opposite Benin Airport, Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State.
In a tribute to the deceased, the family described her as “a mother of unwavering love, unshakable faith and extraordinary strength,” while praying for her peaceful repose.
Thursday’s funeral Mass will bring together family members, friends and well-wishers to pay their final respects, while Saturday’s reception will provide another opportunity to celebrate her life and legacy.
