ABOH/Nigeria: The leadership of Abala Clan Youth Association (ACYA), Ndokwa East Local Government Area, has declared support for the second term bid of the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, saying that they were committed to the 2019 project of the governor..
The group declared the endorsement at the end of its general meeting recently.
The President-General of ACYA,Abala Clan Youth Association, Com. Ifeanyi Okonji, who briefed the press of the outcome of the meeting, also said the youths expressed appreciation to Governor Okowa for appointing one of their own, Hon Chidi Opene, as Special Assistant to the Governor of Political Matters.
According to him, the youths thanked the governor for wading into the kingship crisis in Abala clan through the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, saying that although two kings have been crowned among the three ruling families, the youths hoped for peaceful resolution of the crisis through government intervention.
They called on the governor to also intervene in the abandoned NDDC road project linking Oloa-Ossissa and Abala-Uno, adding that the contractor, Inter-Bau, did less than 30 percent of the work and abandoned the road since the past eight years.
Comrade Okonji said that the road will open up several communities in the riverine area of Ndokwa East local government area if completed, stressing that the people desire the road to be made an all-season road.
He said that youths of Abala clan were appreciative of the SMART Agenda and Prosperity for All Deltans policies of the governor and wants to benefit generously like other communities and people of the state.
