ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Ministry of Youth Development’s Permanent Secretary, Ms Ngozi Mogbolu, has urged corps members to add value in their workspace and assignments assigned to them.
Ms Mogbolu stated this, when the ministry held a send forth ceremony organized for Batch ‘A’ Stream II, out gone corps members that served in the ministry.
“As youth, you have a whole lot of opportunities ahead of you. It is important that you apply diligence in whatever find to do, improve on your communication skills among your peers and superiors. Good communication can take you farther than what you could ever imagine,” Mogbolu stated.
She commended the corps members for their display of competence during their service year, even as she urged them not to forget their identity and keep the good ambassadorial flag of their family background flying.
The Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs Anthonia Anyanfulu; Director, Youth Enterprise, Mr Emmanuel Emuakpeje and the Director of Administration, Mrs Christy Enuma commended the corps members for their good conduct, interaction and display of respect for constituted authorities.
Speaking on behalf of the corps members, Mr Christopher Igwebuike appreciated the Commissioner, Ministry of Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga for the fatherly love shown to them during the service year.
He also appreciated the commissioner for investing in the value reorientation that would help them to fit in, in the larger society, even as he also acknowledged all staff of the ministry for the show of love and display of civility.
In their remarks, the out gone corps members shared their experiences, of how difficult it was for them to fit in, due to the high cost of living in Asaba, especially with the background of where they came from.
They expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Development, for being exceptional towards their welfare and the opportunity of receiving training on the job.
The corps members that completed their mandatory one year national service to the nation in the Ministry of Youth Development included Miss Chiamaka Obi, Mr Christopher Igwebuike and Mr Christopher Ezenwusu.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of souvenirs by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Ms Mogbolu, to the corps outgone corps members.
