AGBOR/Nigeria: The usual gridlock experienced at Uromi Junction in Agbor especially when it rains has worsened this time as the road has practically blocked due to a lot of trailers and luxurious buses that got trapped at Agbor Technical College /Obi Ikechukwu Road junction of the road.
For more than a week the road has been blocked by trailers and big vehicles which extend beyond Baleke junction in Lagos/ Asaba/ Benin express way there by causing a lot of obstruction to the free passage of vehicles.
Many of the passengers travelling to the northern part of the country were seen trapped on the road especially those of them carrying Loads while some had to take to the alternative road of going through Benin/Auchi.
The major cause of the traffic congestion has been identified to be erosion and flood that comes out from Obi Ikechukwu Road which empties its sand content on Agbor/Uriomi/Abuja expressway.
Before now, a pay loader usually comes to the rescue of transporters by coming to evacuate the huge sand deposit at the road whenever it rains
According to one of the trailers drivers whose vehicle is trapped at the junction simply identified as Musa Daudu., he called on the federal and state Government to do something about the condition of the road while identifying the road as a major and very important road in Nigeria.
He lamented that more than three days his vehicle has been trapped at the spot with the load he is carrying which is not very fine.
Some students of technical college whom have to walk through the mud in order to enter their school called on the state Government to come to the rescue of the school, while adding that a lot of their teachers no longer come to the school with their vehicles due to the bad road.
