SAPELE/Nigeria: A Non Governmental organization in Delta State, Known as Urhobo Rebirth Congress, Aka Udu re, Urhobo have advised Delta Central Youths to shun violence during next Saturday’s Election and vote for Candidates of their choice.
The President General of the body, Comrade OgheneOchuko Stephen in a phone chat, appealed strongly to his people that all they wanted during the election is peace, while they should vote wisely for sellable Urhobo Candidates whom they feel can lead them very well irrespective of political inclinations.
The President appreciated his people across the Country for their peaceful deposition which led to the conduct of a peaceful Presidential election throughout the state, stressing that violent act could only result to careless deaths.
Comrade OgheneOchuko warned the youths never to engage themselves in any risky or stupid act inimical to their life during and after the election for any politician whom he said does not worth dying for in any guise.
He pointed out that since all the Gubernatorial aspirants are of Urhobo extractions, the young and the old including the traditional rulers, should make good choice of the person who can led them very well as a good Governor.
Comrade OgheneOchuko explained that all they needed at this material time was a man who can provide rapid transformation across the length and brenght of the state with massive infrastructural development and as well preserve the Unity, custom and tradition of Urhobos.
” We need somebody who can re-establish the Unity of Urhobos better than we have it now, we need Urhobo Governor who can make Urhobo stronger and united as we have it in the Days of old, ”
” Our language has gone into extinction. We now speak English in the place of Urhobo. All our schools which used to teach Urhobo language have stopped. The most annoying thing is that we no longer have Urhobo teachers in schools. This is a big failure on the part of our leaders ” he stated.
He added that any one that would emerge as the next governor in the state should take up these challenges very serious so that Urhobo Nation could progress faster and by extension leaving everlasting legacy for the future generations.
