Akogun of Igbekeboland Hails Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Triumph in Ondo APC Gubernatorial Primaries

AKURE/Nigeria: High Chief Idowu Asonja, known as the Akogun of Igbekeboland, extends his congratulations to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa following his resounding victory in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election. Asonja, speaking through his Media Office, lauded Aiyedatiwa’s win as “well-deserved.”

In a statement released to the press in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, Asonja commended the governor’s overwhelming success across all 18 local government areas of the state, citing it as a testament to Aiyedatiwa’s widespread acceptance and popularity among the people of the sunshine state.

Aiyedatiwa emerged victorious at the conclusion of the two-day intra-party election overseen by a panel chaired by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, garnering 48,460 votes to surpass his competitors in the hotly contested race.

A prominent community leader and State Coordinator of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) in Ondo State, Asonja also praised the APC members in the state, viewing their overwhelming support for the governor as a vote of confidence in his leadership.

Analyzing the voting patterns across the state, Asonja highlighted the electorate’s satisfaction with the development initiatives implemented by Governor Aiyedatiwa during his tenure.

Expressing gratitude for the mandate granted to Aiyedatiwa to represent APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 16th, 2024, Asonja urged the governor to demonstrate magnanimity in victory by embracing his fellow contestants, emphasizing the importance of unity within the party.

Furthermore, Asonja appealed to all contestants to set aside their differences and unite behind Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy, emphasizing that the collective interest of APC must prevail over individual aspirations to ensure victory in the upcoming general election.
