OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: The Head of Department (HOD) of Mass Communication, Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, Dr Emmanuel Akpoveta has said any student desirous of achieve greater height should take his or her studies seriously.
Dr Akpoveta, who made the remarks in a chat with newsmen in his office at Ogwashi-uku, called on students to study to ensure that they justify the efforts of their parents.
He urged students to imbibe the culture of hard work to enable them attain greater heights, saying that hard work does not kill, but rather make one great.
The HOD called on students to shun indecent dressing, cultism and other social vices, saying they were capable of truncating their future, adding that they should respect constituted authorities of the institution.
He commended Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for his contributions to the development of the educational sector of the state, describing him as a man that had great love for education.
Akpoveta equally lauded the Rector of the institution, Professor Emmanuel Achuenu for his notable achievements few months in office, saying that the rector was a great builder.
