Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has pledged that Delta State will continue to give equal attention to all Deltans in the scheme of things irrespective of tribe, religion, political affiliation and ideology.
The Governor made the pledge when he played host to members of Christians and Muslims chaplain of Nigerian Prisons Service, Delta State Command.
Senator Okowa represented by his Executive Assistant on Religious Matters Bishop Greatman Nmalagu lauded Christians and Muslims for their peaceful disposition which he said has advanced his prosperity agenda.
On the request for inmates to be included in the skills acquisition programmes, Senator Okowa assured them that all segments of the society will be included as a deliberate effort to keep idle hands busy with positive ventures rather than allow them be ready tools in the hands of mischief makers.
He urged them to intensify prayers for God to revive the economy of the country.
The leader of the team Reverend Patrick Ulinkhifun said the visit was to thank the governor for the development he has championed in the last nine months and for creating a conducive environment for the various religions to practice their faith.
He appealed to the state Government to consider inmates in the ongoing skills acquisition programmes to be meaningfully engaged to prevent them from going back to criminal activities when they regain their freedom.
Also speaking, Alhaji Abubakar Adekunle said Delta state is one of the states where Muslims are not treated as minority and lauded the Governor for his detribalized nature.
