AMAC Chairman Commits to Meeting Community Needs and Democracy Dividends

ABUJA/Nigeria:  Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has pledged an unwavering dedication to fulfilling the desires and welfare of AMAC residents.

Promising the realization of democratic benefits and the tangible effects of effective governance within the council’s various localities, Maikalangu emphasized this commitment during the groundbreaking ceremony for the rehabilitation of the Mabushi township road.

Addressing attendees at the event, Maikalangu emphasized the responsibility of a conscientious government to heed the aspirations of its citizens. “It is our responsibility to meet the needs and aspirations of all the electorates,” he affirmed. “This will enable residents to enjoy the dividends of democracy and feel the impact of good governance within their various communities.”

Highlighting the significance of fundamental infrastructure in enhancing livelihoods, the chairman underscored the necessity of these facilities for a better quality of life. “Providing basic infrastructures such as this cannot be overrated as luxurious but necessary facilities to make life easy,” he stated. He also emphasized the ripple effect, expressing belief that improved infrastructure would motivate residents to fulfill their civic duties more seamlessly.

He articulated the council’s achievements, spotlighting their primary focus on road construction and rehabilitation alongside strides in rural electrification, water provision, and educational development. He proudly announced ongoing and completed projects, citing the construction and forthcoming commissioning of over 10 asphalt roads across the council’s 12 political wards.

Enumerating specific milestones, Maikalangu detailed the timeline and locations of road projects, mentioning completed endeavors in Kpegyi community, Damagaza Village, Wumba village, Gwagwa (by Police Station), Dutsen-Garki, Jikwoyi, and Unguwan Sarki access roads in Orozo. He also noted the re-awarding and full completion of the Iddo-Sarki access road project along the Airport road, illustrating the council’s persistent efforts in infrastructural development.

Asserting the council’s unwavering commitment to service, Maikalangu concluded, “We are here to serve the people and we will leave no stone unturned until we make positive impacts across the board.”
