Amb. Oyibode: A Visionary Trailblazer, Messiah Sent to Salvage His People

By Comrade Itodje Okiemute Godstime

To and in every season, there is a leader and messiah who is sent from above or God Almighty to deliver His children in a specific purpose or mission.

Biblically, trailblazers such as Moses, Joshua, Samson, Elijah, Elisha, Jehu, Isaiah, Jesus Christ and His Disciples…many but few to be mentioned, in one season or the other were sent to save the children of God. However, their roles, responsibilities, grace, anointing and strength maybe differ but they were sent purposely to save mankind and show them the true and only way to life in eternity.

In our modern-day world, personality like late Nelson Mandela of South Africa who vigorously with irresistible zeal fought for the freedom of the blacks in South Africa, is one outstanding figure we live to remember.

As state or country, we cry and complain of the poor conditions of infrastructures, poor standard of living, bad leadership, bribing and corruption and other social vices in our modern society that are very alarming and causing huge threats to our co-existence, as a result of these mayhems, we are praying and hoping…looking up to God to send us a man with the spirit of Joshua who can lead us to the promise land of our dreams.

Meanwhile, in the pass and till present-day, so many rulers have ruled us to the land of penury, dilemma and stagnantism. Moreover, we have insufficient good leaders, whom, within their capacities cannot transform the society to the standard of which we desired.

Nelson Mandela and other prototypical leaders in the world have lived and fulfilled their missions and destinies…and there is a voice just like the one of “John the Baptist” crying now in the wilderness, saying “have a change of mindset, for the time for whole development of minds, soul, and infrastructures has come and those that are willing and obedient will enjoy the fruit of the land”

Just like, when Jesus Christ was born, it was only few people (three wise men from the east saw the star) knew that a Messiah has been given birth to and in the same way, some of us have the opportunity to also see a man with the spirit of Moses and Joshua and overwhelmed with the anointing of Jehu to do what his predecessors are and were unable to do.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have search and from systematic examination, found a man, we believe is the man we are being waiting for to take mantle of leadership and to make life easy for both the rich and the poor. And his is not any other person but CHIEF DR. AMB. GABRIEL CHUKWUMA ETAOGHENEVWEGBA OYIBODE (THE ODOGWU 1 OF EZHIONUM KINGDOM)

Below are some of the outstanding potentials of Chief Dr. Amb. Gabriel Oyibode which makes him distinguished amongst other leaders and far better than rulers:

Amb. Oyibode is a Visionary Leader Not a Ruler: Obviously leader is better than ruler because a ruler thinks about himself first but leader takes his team with him. He thinks about others first – the success of other, the welfares of others, the pains of others. And this has been one of the areas Amb. Oyibode has been made outstanding by paying attention to his followers and supporters.

“I have often wondered if Nigeria understand the difference between ruling and leading. I said this because, the insults and innuendoes bandied about recently regarding level of education; semi-illiterates, Ph.D holders speak volumes. Nigeria needs a leader not a ruler. We are a democratic country, aren’t we?”

  1. Focus: “It’s been said that leadership is making important but unpopular decisions. That’s certainly a partial truth, but I think it underscores the importance of focus. Amb. Oyibode is a good leader, “you cannot major in minor things, and you must be less distracted than your competition”. Amb. Oyibode is a leader who focuses on the growth and development of Delta State and Nigeria in general through good governance.

  1. Confidence: Amb. Oyibode is a leader who instils confidence and ‘followership’ by having a clear vision, showing empathy and being a strong mentor. As a visionary leader and architect of human capacity building, to be recognized, I feel he has showed up with swagger and assertiveness, yet he always tries to maintain his assiduous and jingoistic upbringing, which underscores kindness and generosity.

  1. Integrity: “Chief Dr. Amb. Gabriel Chukwuma Etaoghenevwegba Oyibode is a direct reflection of the values that embody good leaders. If we’re playing from a reactive and obsolete playbook of needing to be right instead of doing what’s right, then we limit the full potential of Amb. Oyibode and lose quality aptitude.

  1. Transparency: Amb. Oyibode never bought into the concept of ‘wearing the mask moreover, in the political sector or otherwise! As a leader, he knows how to engender trust and buy-in from his team and with his organization, to be 100 percent authentically him—open.

  1. Inspiration.

  1. Passion: Amb. Oyibode loves what he does. In order to be truly successful and developed as like other developed nations in the world has become Amb. Oyibode Preoccupation. His passion to lead delta state to the promised land, he has obsessed over it and it has consumed him enthusiastically. “No matter how successful you might become, you are never satisfied and constantly push to do something bigger, better and greater. You lead by example not because you feel like it’s what you should do, but because it is your way of life.” – Amb. Oyibode

  1. Innovation: “In delta state; a state with finite resources and immeasurable expansion of population, Amb. Oyibode’s innovative prowess is essential for not only success but also survival. The innovators are our leaders. You cannot separate the two. Whether it is by thought, technology or organization, innovation is our only hope to solve our challenges.”

  1. Stoicism: Stoicism is one outstanding physiognomies of Chief Dr. Amb. Gabriel C. E. Oyibode…accepting and anticipating to situations, reacting emotionally things. “It’s inevitable: We’re going to find ourselves in some real shit situations, whether they’re costly mistakes, unexpected failures or unscrupulous enemies.

  1. Patience: “Patience is really courage that’s meant to test your commitment to your cause. The path to great things is always tough, but the best leaders understand when to abandon the cause and when to stay the course. If your vision is bold enough, there will be hundreds of reasons why it ‘can’t be done’ and plenty of doubters. A lot of things have to come together” – Amb. Oyibode

  1. Authenticity

  1. Open-Mindedness: “One of the biggest myths is that good leaders are great visionaries with dogged determination to stick to their goals no matter what. It’s nonsense. The truth is, leaders need to keep an open mind while being flexible, and adjust if necessary.

  1. Personableness:

  1. Decisiveness: “In high school and college, to pick up extra cash I would often referee recreational basketball games. The mentor who taught me how to officiate gave his refs one important piece of advice that translates well into the professional world: ‘Make the call fast, make the call loud and don’t look back.’ In marginal situations, a decisively made wrong call will often lead to better long-term results and a stronger team than a wishy-washy decision that turns out to be right.”
  2. Empowerment: “Many of my leadership philosophies were learned as an athlete. My most successful teams didn’t always have the most talent but did have teammates with the right combination of skills, strengths and a common trust in each other. To build an ‘overachieving’ team, you need to delegate responsibility and authority. Giving away responsibilities isn’t always easy. It can actually be harder to do than completing the task yourself, but with the right project selection and support, delegating can pay off in dividends. It is how you truly find people’s capabilities and get the most out of them.”
  3. Generosity: Generosity and Empowerments are the two major primary aims of Amb. Oyibode’s Ministry. He gives dangerously irrespective of class, tribe or religion.   “My main goal has always been to offer the best of myself. We all grow—as a collective whole—when I’m able to build up others and help them grow as individuals.” – Amb. Oyibode

  1. Positiveness: “In order to achieve greatness in delta state and Nigeria in general, Amb. Oyibode knows that he must create a culture of optimism.

  1. Persistence: Amb. Oyibode is a great leader whom told me, “Persistence beats resistance.” And working with Chief Dr. Amb. Gabriel Oyibode for the past four years, I realised that “All great things take time, and you must persist no matter what. That’s what it takes to be a leader: willingness to go beyond where others will stop.”

  1. Communication: “If people aren’t aware of your expectations, and they fall short, it’s really your fault for not expressing it to them. Amb. Oyibode is in constant communication with his supporters, followers and political leaders…at the state and federal level. But communication is a balancing act! You might have a specific want or need, but it’s superimportant to treat work to develop or transform delta state and Nigeria as a teamwork. He always wants people to tell him their thoughts and ideas and also shares his own with them.

  1. Insightfulness: Amb. Oyibode’s insight is right, and that is why he is a genius! “It takes insight every day to be able to separate that which is really important from all the incoming fire. It’s like wisdom”.
  2. Restlessness: “It takes real leadership to find the strengths within each person on your team and then be willing to look outside to plug the gaps. It’s best to believe that your team alone does not have all the answers— because if you believe that, it usually means you’re not asking all the right questions.”
  3. Accountability: in aspect of accountability. Amb. Oyibode does not only take responsibility; he take the next step to make things right!

  1. Political Party: Chief Dr. Amb. Gabriel C. E. Oyibode is one of the bigwigs and frontrunners of the All Progressives Congress APC and with the full support of the overwhelming Deltans who are clamouring for change…positive change and good governance, in 2019 gubernatorial election in delta state, Amb. Oyibode shall serve delta state in the capacity of a state GOVERNOR…
