ABUJA/Nigeria: The Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has congratulated the state on its outstanding performance at the maiden edition of the National Teachers’ Summit, describing Anambra’s showing as a clear testament to the state’s growing reputation for excellence in education.

Dr. Soludo, who is also the Founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, said Anambra distinguished itself at the summit, which was organised by the Office of the Wife of the President in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education. The event ended on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.

The summit, themed “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System: A National Agenda for Education Transformation and Sustainability,” brought together key stakeholders in the education sector from across the country.

According to Dr. Soludo, Mr. Chekwube Ifentike of Government Technical College, Onitsha, emerged the overall best teacher in the South-East and first runner-up at the national level, a feat she described as remarkable.

She disclosed that Ifentike’s performance earned Anambra State a cash prize of ₦25 million, noting that the achievement reflects deliberate planning, strong political will, and a sustainable vision for education under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

“The recognition goes beyond academics and underscores the state government’s heavy investment in education as a critical driver of human capital development and the future growth of Anambra,” she said.

Dr. Soludo added that teachers in the state have been empowered like never before to excel both within and outside the classroom, stressing that the current administration’s focus on education is already yielding positive and measurable results.

She congratulated Mr. Ifentike for his brilliance, dedication, and for projecting Anambra positively on the national stage, describing his success as an inspiration to educators across the state.

Dr. Soludo also commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, for her collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, noting that the partnership made the summit possible and ensured its success.
