UTAGBA UNO/Nigeria: The Ani-Ndokwa Clans Association (ANCA) has conferred the title of Patron on Rear Admiral Mike Ojinika Onah (rtd.), honouring the retired naval chief for his integrity, leadership, and contributions to the advancement of the Ndokwa nation. The recognition came during the association’s maiden visit to his Utagba-Uno residence in Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
Led by its President-General, Prince Igwe Nzekwe, ANCA, an umbrella body comprising 37 clans across Ndokwa and Ukwuani local government areas, said Admiral Onah’s record of service and commitment made him an outstanding choice for the role. The association was formed to promote unity, mutual understanding, and the preservation of cultural heritage among Ndokwa communities.
Prince Nzekwe noted that ANCA looks forward to working closely with the new Patron to drive development initiatives across the region.
In his response, Admiral Onah urged all Presidents-General of Ndokwa clans to be proactive in shaping a prosperous future, emphasising the need for youth mentorship. He encouraged ANCA to guide Ndokwa youths toward discipline, respect for leaders, and productive engagement rather than using social media to attack political figures.
The retired naval officer also commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme for ongoing development projects in Ndokwa land. He highlighted the Delta State Free Trade Zone, the Utagba-Uno–Ndemili Road, and the Akarai-Aboh Road as transformative projects supporting regional growth.
In separate goodwill messages, Ukwuani Local Government Chairman, Hon. Possible Ajede; Special Adviser to the Governor on Livestock and Inter-Ethnic Matters, Chief Jeffrey Asagba; and political leader Dr. Gabriel Amuchi described the honour bestowed on Admiral Onah as well deserved. They expressed confidence that his guidance would further strengthen ANCA’s mission to advance the development of the Ndokwa nation.
