
OLOMU/Nigeria: Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, on his coronation as the 14th Owhorode of Olomu Kingdom, describing the moment as both historic and divinely significant. The senator also joined the kingdom in celebrating the monarch’s 71st birthday, which coincided with the royal ascension.
In a statement on Sunday, Senator Dafinone said the rare convergence of the king’s coronation and birthday symbolises “a divine moment of grace and renewal” for the ancient Olomu Kingdom.
He praised the new Owhorode’s distinguished career in the legal profession, noting that Akpomudje’s accomplishments as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators reflect “integrity, discipline, and excellence.”
“Your Majesty has exemplified the noblest ideals of justice and fairness,” Dafinone said. “These enduring qualities now find fuller expression in your new calling as custodian of the rich traditions, unity, and destiny of the Olomu people.”
Beyond his professional achievements, the senator highlighted the monarch’s longstanding role as a promoter of unity and progress within the Urhobo Nation. He described the new Owhorode as “a bridge-builder, a voice of reason, and a beacon of selfless service,” adding that his leadership experience offers assurance of renewed harmony and development for the kingdom.
“As you ascend this sacred throne, may your reign be defined by peace, wisdom, and prosperity,” Dafinone said, reaffirming the support of the Urhobo Nation for the new monarch’s vision.
He also offered prayers for continued health, wisdom, and long life for the king as he begins his reign.
“Congratulations, Your Royal Majesty,” the statement concluded. “Long live the Owhorode of Olomu Kingdom, long live Olomu Kingdom, and long live the Urhobo Nation.”
