LAGOS/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu has charged information officers on the need for creativity and quality service delivery in the work place.
Mr Aniagwu gave the charge Friday, September 10, 2021, at the closing ceremony of a two-day workshop on Communication Strategies for Effective Service Delivery in Workplace, held at Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. LCCI, Lagos State.

The commissioner, who said that he believed more in quality initiative and creativity than headwork, urged participants to ensure that the knowledge acquired during the training reflected in the discharge of their day-to-day work.
“The sharp difference that exists between private and public sectors is the latitude to be very creative.
“Even in my own private enterprise, I don’t look for those that are very hard working, I prefer those that have initiative, like the saying goes, ideas rule the world.
“I will rather engage those that will inject their ideas to mine which will lead to multiplicity of results,” he stated.

He noted that the ministry would continue to do more in improving and developing the skills of officers, which he explained, would lead to greater outputs in the state.
According to him, “To whom much is given, much is expected, and also to whom much is expected, much should be given; that is why am looking forward to seeing more improved information and communication officers.”
While enjoining participants not to use their temporary position to incur permanent enemies, he enjoined them to endeavour to share love and collaborate with each other.
The information commissioner also stressed the need for information officers to win friends for the ministry and other ministries and agencies where they were posted to in the state.
Aniagwu made it clear that participants did not lobby to attend the workshop, saying that they were selected based on their initiatives on the service delivery.
Highpoints of the event were the presentation of certificates to participants and souvenir of two books, title, “Talking Couple and Public Relations and Security– Strategies to Solve Security Challenges written by Nkechi Ali-Balogun.
