ASABA/Nigeria: Talent Development has been described as critical in the generation of employment, curbing youth restiveness and enhancing the social life of the people.
Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu stated this while playing host to a delegation of actors and actresses who were led by Mr. Emmanuel Iwala, the Special Adviser on Talent Hunt to the Akwa Ibom State Governor.
The commissioner noted that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa saw the need to develop an ultra modern film village situated at Anwai.
The film village, according to him, would cater for the huge number of talented Deltans who may not have been able to explore ways of showcasing their talent, saying that it was expected to engender peace, unity and development.
Aniagwu observed that Delta State and Akwa Ibom State were noted for hospitality and welcoming hence he was not surprised that the Special Adviser led a powerful delegation to Delta State.
He expressed the hope that the collaboration between the two states would move beyond hospitality and entertainment to other areas of economic development.
Earlier, the Special Adviser, Mr. Emmanuel Iwala, informed the commissioner that they were in Delta State to explore the abundant resources and the enabling environment that made film production much easier.
He commended the Delta State Government for developing an all-encompassing film village, observing that the initiative would practically make the state a destination for film production as well as employ a good number of youths with budding talents.
