Election In the Ethiope East amongst others in the recent times has always attracted key attention, interest and concentration of both the lowly and the mighty if not for any reason but for the fact that it is the local government harbouring the leader of a major opposition party in the state, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru.
As the forthcoming L.G.A. polls gathers momentum, the people of Ethiope East in their usual resilience have opened up labyrinths of findings and search for a worthy aspirant in whose chest to rest the flap of their tie.
However, from the tunnel and abyss of hopelessness comes a beacon of light illuminating and beaming signals of hope and heightening the courage and faith for a better and brighter tomorrow. It is no doubt that Ethiope East, as endowed and privileged it has been, has suffered excruciating pains of mismanagement and bad leadership overtime. The recklessness of our leaders in the past has created a paradox of poverty in the midst of plenty for the citizenry of the L.G.A. These and many more anomalies have indisputably culminated in eroding confidence in the ability and capacity of the ruling party, PDP to provide a messiah in this regard as previous chairmen have been provided by the party.
The people of Ethiope East need a change! In the words of Zig Ziglar, “doing things the way it has been done and expecting a change is a clear definition of foolishness”. Among available aspirants contending for the seat of the chairmanship, the young, dynamic and vibrant Innocent Anidi stands very tall, outstanding and distinguished. He is an experienced technocrat with proven leadership abilities who rose consciously and synthetically from grass to grace using instruments of sincerity, accountability and respect for human feelings. The managing director and CEO of Ocean Black Oil and Gas company, though has never held any political office nor appointment but has been committed to bettering lives, irrespective of their origin. He has given many dying dreams and visions reasons to live again as he has contributed immensely and meaningfully to youth empowerment, human capital and community development. Going by his career and philanthropic pedigree, there is no doubt that he would deliver good to the good people of Ethiope East . He is loved and highly celebrated by all and sundry. Such an icon and agent of change would certainly do more when given public leadership opportunity. Anidi Innocent has the capacity to breathe life into the L.G.A and putting all other sentiment aside, based on merit he is the right man for the job.
