OKPANAM/Nigeria: The Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Waterways and Lands Security, Hon. Chibueze Pino Aniemeka, has recommended the Okowa Ifeanyi Okowa’s empowerment policy for the leadership of the local government in the state.
Hon. Aniemeka, advocated this in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area during a mobilisation meeting with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) faithful ahead of March 6 Local Government election in the state.
The Governor’s aide , who stated that the party’s chairmanship candidate for Oshimili North, Hon. Innocent Esewenzie would replicate the Governor’s youth and women empowerment programme in the council as a deliberate approach to make them self reliant, called on the people to come out in the large number to cast their votes for all the PDP’s candidates in the election.
Hon. Pino Aniemeka, who described the three councillorship candidates of the party including Hon. Barry Ezeche Okonkwo, Comrade Jeffery Sunday Mordi, popularly known as Olaola and lady Nkem Franca Nwankwo as committed party members, said that Hon. Esewenzie was a tested and trusted leader.
While saying that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa had transformed Okpanam through road construction and appointment of one of their illustrious sons, Mr. Patrick Ukah as Commissioner in his two term administration as well as recognised some indigenes of the community in his empowerment initiative, Hon. Aniemeka enjoined youths in the area to embrace things that could add value to their lives.
He maintained that Hon. Esewenzie was very much aware of the needs of the youths as the ex-while Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Youths, adding that the candidate to if elected as Chairman Hon. Esewenzie would carry the people along in the scheme of things and train them in different skills for them to be independent.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Obodogwugwu PDP Cell in the area, Mr. Chukwudi Anigbo, urged the people to continue to identify with PDP in the area, saying that the party had recorded unprecedentedly achievements people oriented policies and programmes, just as he implored the people to rally round the candidates for good governance and effective representation.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of the ‘Unity We Stand ‘, a political pressure group in the area, Chief Anthony Egwuatu, who noted that the best initiative of every responsible government was the multiplier effects of its infrastructural and human capital development, commended the Governor for impacting positively in Okpanam community with the massive roads construction.
