OKPANAM/Nigeria: A frontline community leader and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Chibueze Pino Aniemeka, has restated his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Okpanam community and Oshimili North at large.

Aniemeka, an engineer and Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, made this known in Okpanam while addressing impressions in some quarters, particularly Ogbeozoma, that he and the Oshimili North Council Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esenwezie, had the influence to alter the outcome of the recent boundary demarcation between Ogbeozoma and Issele Azagba.

He explained that the boundary adjustment exercise was strictly ordered and executed by the state government, noting that neither he nor the Council Chairman had the power to influence the process in favour of any community. “The decision was that of the Governor, and there was little or nothing we could do to alter it,” he said.

Chief Aniemeka reminded the people of Ogbeozoma that he is closely tied to the community through his maternal lineage and would never identify with anything that could bring sorrow to Okpanam people. “I am a proud indigene of Okpanam, and my commitment will always be to uplift the well-being of our people,” he stressed.

He further recalled how the Ugoani of Okpanam, HRM Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu, alongside stakeholders in Obodogba Quarters, recently commended the proactive steps of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in resolving the long-standing boundary dispute between Ibusa and Obodogba, describing it as proof of the governor’s fairness.

Aniemeka also pointed out that despite Chairman Esenwezie’s Ibusa origin, he maintained neutrality during the boundary demarcation and allowed the state government to carry out the exercise without bias.

Commending Governor Oborevwori for his proactive approach, Chief Aniemeka described the resolution of the Ogbeozoma-Issele Azagba and Ibusa-Obodogba disputes as timely and commendable. He urged communities affected by such demarcations across the state to accept the decisions of government in the interest of lasting peace.

He emphasized that the Oborevwori administration meant well for the people of Okpanam, highlighting the impact of empowerment initiatives and infrastructural projects already executed in the community under the current government.
