APC Chieftain Denounces Tony Okocha’s Allegations, Calls Him “Chameleon” in Political Playground

PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized Tony Okocha and others for turning the Nigerian political arena into a breeding ground for “characteristically defective and valueless neophytes.”

Okocha, addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, declared that APC stalwart, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, is no longer the party’s leader in Rivers State, alleging anti-party activities. He claimed credit for mobilizing support for APC presidential candidate Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, attributing the party’s success in Rivers State to the backing of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

Chief Eze rebuked Okocha, labeling him “shameless and characterless,” emphasizing Amaechi’s previous appointment of Okocha as Chief of Staff during his tenure as Governor. Eze questioned Okocha’s APC membership during the 2023 general elections and accused him of being a pawn manipulated by undisclosed sponsors.

Describing Okocha as a “chameleon” with a penchant for falsehood, Chief Eze suggested that Okocha’s financial motives might be the driving force behind his recent accusations against Amaechi. He urged Okocha to focus on serious issues, such as the prevalent hunger and insecurity affecting Nigerians, instead of engaging in trivial political maneuvers.

In response to Okocha’s claim of Amaechi’s interference in voting choices, Chief Eze clarified that Amaechi does not dictate voting preferences to his followers. Eze criticized Okocha and other detractors for diverting attention from crucial national issues.

Concluding his statement, Chief Eze counseled Okocha to address his personal problems, including health concerns, and advised him to desist from targeting Amaechi, whom he portrayed as operating on a different political plane.
