ASABA/Nigeria: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha North, Engineer Afam Emma Eboh, has described as a futile political gimmick the recent outburst by former Senator Peter Nwaoboshi over the dissolution of the Forum of APC Delta North local government and ward chairmen.
Eboh, reacting to Nwaoboshi’s attack on the Delta North APC Senatorial Chairman, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, said the senator’s accusations were unfair and desperate. He stressed that Nwaoboshi’s criticism of Eluaka for dissolving the forum was misplaced and aimed at seeking relevance within the party.
He explained that the APC Constitution does not recognize the proscribed bodies, and affirmed that the senatorial chairman acted within his powers to dissolve any unconstitutional structure that fuels division or undermines party authority. According to him, Eluaka’s action was necessary to uphold party discipline and cohesion.
“The APC operates with respect for higher organs and authorities. It is embarrassing for unconstitutional structures like the Forum of APC Delta North LGA Chairmen to disregard and undermine resolutions of the Senatorial District leadership,” Eboh said.
He advised Nwaoboshi to be more circumspect in choosing his political battles, urging him to promote unity and respect for party structures just as he enjoyed during his time as senator. Eboh further reminded Nwaoboshi that he raised no objection when the Ibori Vanguard, where he was a leader, was dissolved.
Eboh concluded that it was ill-motivated and unnecessary for anyone to play hide-and-seek games with the leadership of Delta North APC.
