APC Crumbles in Patani as Vice Chairmanship Candidate Defects to PDP …. We Have Set Platform to Deliver Okowa in 2019 – Asiuwhu, Omoun

PATANI/Nigeria: Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Patani Local Government Area, Comrade Godspower Asiuwhu, the party’s Chairmanship flagbearer in the local government, Barr. Perez Omoun, and the entire members of the party in the area have promised to deliver the state Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, in 2019.

These assurances where given during the local government chairmanship campaign rallies held across the 19 wards in the area where speaker after speaker expressed optimism on the victory of the party in the 2019 governorship election, adding that the evidence and reality on ground shows that January 6, 2018 local government election is as good as won.

Former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly  Rt. Hon. Basil Ganagana, specifically in Bulu Angiama Ward 8, asked the people not to waste their votes for any other party out of anger, stating that if you end up voting for them because you are angry, you would have wasted your vote, since PDP will win massively as a result of the good works of the Governor and the candidates the party has chosen to fly its flags.

At the grand finale of the campaigns held in Patani which was a carnival of some sort/ it witnessed the defection of former members of the PDP back to their original party, Comrade Asiuwhu stated that “every place we visited, the people told us not to campaign because Perez Omoun has been accepted by them, that we should celebrate rather than campaign for the forthcoming local government election.

The testimonies from across the various wards in the local government area climaxed with the defection of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairmanship Candidate for the January 6 local government elections, Hon. Abel Trakriowei, former Vice Chairman and leader of Patani legislative arm, Hon. Ekpobetebe Charles Ebimobowei, former Treasurer of PDP in Patani, Chief Babodor Lawrence,  Hon. Otuedor Emmanuel, Prince Bibowei Ghomorai and Commander Samuel, along with their supporters, which is an indication to the fact that there is no opposition party in Patani LGA.

Vice Chairman of the PDP in Delta South, Prince Emma Amgbaduba, while receiving the decampees, assured them of equal treatment in the party. He expressed joy at their return to their original home and encourage them to work tirelessly for the success of the party in subsequent elections.

The Chairmanship candidate, Barr Omoun, at the ceremony, thanked the people for their support and asked them to replicate the love shown him for Senator Okowa, “let us give Okowa our support in 2019 so that he will complete the developmental projects in our local government especially the road linking Uduophori to Patani so that our people will not be going through Ughelli North to access their communities”.

He promise to hold on to those democratic ideals that the party have branded in the heart of the people, stressing that he will hold on to the dictum that democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Barr. Omoun pledged to continue to give liberty to the people and create an atmosphere for everyone to maximize his or her God given potentials.
