KWALE/Nigeria: The All Progressive Congress, APC, Delta State Chapter has accused the Delta state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of morgating the state Internally Generated Revenue, (IGR), due to high level of fraud characterised the award of N13.6 Billion New Secretariat Contract by the government.
Making the accusation over the weekend, is a chieftain of the party, and governorship hopeful in the 2019 general election, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, while addressing journalists in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Area, during the meeting of the Ndokwa APC chapters, and the launching of the “One Man One Vote Campaign” of the party.
Dr. Ojuigbo stated the party has the evidences of the intention of the state government the state, and they will soon make public the documents, as he accuses the governor of lack of integrity in running the state.
“We have the agreement signed by the State and we have the plan by the Bank to wire the sum of $18,000,000 to the Governor’s personal account overseas and we are going to discuss that this week.”
He accused the governor of lacking integrity, as most of his recent actions have shown.
“A man who gathered Asaba Chiefs and packaged them to Asaba Airport. When they left, they turned around to say, the Asagba and the Asagba in council has adopted Okowa for a second term, only for the Council to comeout and said it was fraud, that they were bribed. Is that a man with integrity?” Ojougboh questioned.
While launching the “One Man One Vote Campaign, he reminded the party members that it will be difficult for the APC to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2019 in the state, if the campaign of one man one vote is not adhered to during the election. He tasked the members to educate the electorates, and the party supporters, saying that is the only weapon to defeat the PDP.
“It is important that we elect somebody who will stop corruption first and the first corruption to stop is election rigging. If we do not stop rigging, they will out rig us and that is why we are launching the “One Man, One Vote Campaign” all over Delta State. We must first checkmate the rigging carried out by PDP. APC can win over PDP rigging but we must first purge ourselves of indiscipline.”
Dr. Ojougboh called for unity in the party, as the lack of united front will mare the chances of the party in the state, in the 2019 General Election.
“APC will have a tough time in defeating PDP in Delta State, but we will win if we work together as one family. I know that some people are working for Cairo, some for Ochei, Ogboru, Utomi and others, but the beauty of APC in Delta State is that, everyone is working and the aim of this meeting is to work as one family.”
He however assured the people of Ndokwa Nation that the marginalization slammed on them by the PDP administration will be history during an APC administration in the State, as he charged them to speak with one voice in supporting an APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election.
Meanwhile he disabused the minds of the party faithfuls about his ambition, as he said it is not a Do-Or-Die affair, saying that anyone who emerges after the party primaries, he will surely work with the person, but noted that he leads the target while others follow.
