ASABA/Nigeria: The Federal Government has been called upon to look into the increase in fuel price, and possibly reverse it to the old price. This call was made by citizen in Asaba Delta State, in an interview conducted by Ndokwa Reporters.
They complained that the increase in fuel price is not a good one at this time because since the Coronavirus pandemic tricycle and bus drivers has been carrying few commuters making the price in transportation very high, so increasing the price of fuel will make the situation worse, as it will have effect on commodities in the market because transportation will increase and there is no way they can make profit in their businesses without increasing the price of products in the market.
Mr Stanley a tricycle driver, said that, the increase in fuel price has effect on the value of commodities in the market because transportation will definitely increase and for traders to be able to make profit, they will have to increase the price of goods in the market thereby having effect on citizens.
Mrs Oluchi a trader said that Government should reconsider the increase in fuel price because they are spending much on transportation alone, carrying goods from where they are buying it to the market is very expensive making it difficult for buyers to be able to afford it.
Mr Sunday a tricycle driver, also said that the increase in fuel price is not a good one because after buying fuel on a high price commuters will not agree to pay what they are being asked to pay, at the end of the day we end up spending almost all we have worked in a day on fuel.
