Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor

ASABA/Nigeria: As Nigeria marked its 65th Independence anniversary, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, peace, and collective responsibility in the quest for a just and prosperous nation.

In his goodwill message, conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor stressed that every stakeholder has a role to play in building a brighter future for the country. He underscored the importance of stability, respect for the rule of law, and inclusivity as cornerstones of sustainable national development.

Guwor, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, congratulated Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, describing the 65th Independence anniversary as a moment for sober reflection on the country’s past and aspirations for the future.

The Speaker reaffirmed that the 8th Delta Assembly would continue to collaborate with other arms of government to deliver good governance and accelerate development in the state.

While commending Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as visionary leadership, Guwor urged citizens, particularly Deltans, to sustain their faith in the nation and contribute meaningfully to its growth.

He emphasized that hard work, quality education, innovation, and opportunities for all—especially the youth—remain critical to building a greater Nigeria.

“May the labours of our heroes past never be in vain. May Nigeria rise above every challenge to fulfill her divine destiny as the true giant of Africa. Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria. God bless Delta State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the Speaker stated.
