Atiku Abubakar Calls World Press Conference for Thursday Amid Certificate Controversy

ABUJA/Nigeria: Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has set a date for a World Press Conference scheduled for Thursday, as announced by Dele Momodu, one of his campaign spokespersons.

Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 election, has remained tight-lipped about the agenda of the conference. However, speculations suggest it may be related to the recently surfaced certificates of President Bola Tinubu, allegedly from Chicago State University (CSU).

Atiku had previously requested these documents to support his claim of forgery regarding Tinubu’s CSU certificate. It’s worth noting that this allegation of forgery was dismissed by the presidential election court during Atiku’s legal challenge to Tinubu’s election victory. Despite this setback, Atiku has continued to pursue the matter in a US court, seeking official documentation to strengthen his case, possibly for use in an appeal to the Supreme Court.

Atiku’s legal team sought specific items, including an example of a CSU diploma issued in 1979, Tinubu’s diploma from the same year, a CSU diploma closely matching the font, seal, signatures, and wording of Tinubu’s diploma from June 1979, as well as CSU documents certified and produced by Jamar Orr, who served as an associate general counsel at CSU at the time.

While the controversy surrounding the certificates has dominated headlines over the past 48 hours, Atiku has remained conspicuously silent on the matter until now. His upcoming World Press Conference is expected to shed light on his stance and further actions regarding this contentious issue. ( Source: Newsexpress)
