ABUJA/Nigeria: The Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has launched a scathing attack on former presidential aide Reno Omokri, accusing him of hypocrisy, opportunism, and treachery over his persistent criticism of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a strongly worded post on his verified X account on Saturday, Ibe berated Omokri for what he described as “pedestrian, vitriolic and unprovoked attacks” against Obi. His remarks came in response to Omokri’s earlier post, where the former presidential aide claimed to have discussed credibility with Atiku in a private phone conversation.
“Reno Omokri, you are a classic case study in psychological projection — an insecure man so desperate to escape his own failures that he accuses others of the very flaws that define him,” Ibe wrote. “Credibility and Reno Omokri in the same grammatical environment? Oh, what a mockery. That’s an oxymoron so wild it should be banned by both logic and language.”
Ibe questioned Omokri’s moral standing, describing him as a “master of treachery” and comparing him to Judas Iscariot. He accused Omokri of shifting loyalties for personal gain and ridiculed his self-styled image as a pastor, labelling it a “comedy dipped in hypocrisy.”
“Your kind of goodness isn’t ethical — it’s transactional, scavenging like a hyena sniffing out its next meal. You parade yourself as a pastor, but you are a pastor just like Simon the Sorcerer. Nigeria isn’t your polygamous playground. That riverside romance has failed — spectacularly,” Ibe said.
He challenged Omokri to direct his energy towards issues of national concern, such as the controversies surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s educational records and past drug-related allegations in the United States, rather than launching personal attacks.
“Instead of clowning around on the imaginary Lagos-Calabar expressway, why not explain how Government College Lagos awarded a certificate to ‘Bola A. Tinubu’ in 1970 — two full years before the school was established? Better still, join the call for the FBI to release Tinubu’s drug records,” Ibe charged.
In a final swipe, Ibe dismissed Omokri as “loud, treacherous, desperate — and utterly irrelevant,” warning that no amount of “delusion or self-adulation” would change that reality.
