UGHELLI/Nigeria: The leadership of the Urhobo Progress Union ably led by activist Kelly Efemena has condoled with the Anioma Youth Council led by Comr Okwufulueze Ofonye Nnamdi over the untimely death of one of her shinning and bright youths general, Comr Austin Emu, the founder and National President of Delta State Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps who was assassinated by unknown gunmen over the weekend
In a statement personally signed by the UPU Youthwing President, Activist Kelly Efemena Umukoro and released by the Publicity Secretary, Prince Ukuanovwe Godstime Oj.
The President expressed shock and disbelief that truly a personality like that of Austin Emu who is effecting positive changes in the society and a foremost advocate of peace can be murdered, saying it is still unbelievable.
Continuing Umukoro said that Austin Emu died in active service for humanity and his death can never be swept under the carpet.
He called on Anioma nation and all well meaning Deltans to work in unison to fish out the deadly assassins that perpetrated the heinous and unholy act.
Adding: “Comrade Austine Emu helped the Urhobo Nation in bringing peace to Delta Central. He worked closely with the UPU Youthwing President and
both took certain risks which birthed the needed peace in some quarters.
“The vacuum his death has created cannot be filled.
“As a union , we wish to use this opportunity to call on the Delta State Police Command to fish out the perpertrators of this heinous and barbaric act because the death of Comrade Austine Is capable of demoralizing other youth leaders who have the zeal to assist and work closely with law enforcement agencies in fighting against crime and criminality in the state.
“We’re seizing this medium to further call on the state government to wake up from her slumber and tackle the security challenges facing the state as the primary responsibility of the state government is to protect lives and properties.”There is no better time to start off the Operation Delta Hawk security outfit he added.
“We’re equally appealing to the state government to reach out to the family of the late commander to help finance the education of his kids since he died in active voluntary service in helping the state government to combat crime and criminality.
“Also it would not be out of place to immortalise Comr Austin Emu by the Delta State government,” he added.
