EKPAN/Nigeria: A renowned dynamic Minister of God and shepherd in charge of Shalom Baptist Church, Ekpan near Warri, of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Pastor Bright Opate has urged Christians to do everything possible not to get involved in any hate speeches against one another in the country, especially to those in authority.
Pastor Bright Opate gave the admonition Sunday January 28, 2018 at Shalom Baptist church, Ekpan near, Warri during this year’s Baptist Women Focus Week which is being celebrated all over the Nigerian Baptist Conference Churches internationally with the theme: “Building a Great Nation through effective Christian participation”.
The Man of God urged Christians to join hands together in Nation building, noting that a great nation is a nation whose government and governed have the spirit of God.
Pst. Opate who took his text from the bible book of Prov.29:2 described “Building” to mean forming, developing, increasing, establishing, strengthen and constructing.
According to him a great Nation should have education that is free from examination malpractices, corruption and strike as well as politicians being faithful in handling of public funds.
Pst. Opate enjoined all especially Christians to go and register in the continuous voters’ registration in order to exercise their franchise and vote for the candidate of their choice at the forth coming 2019 general election.
He charged Christians to pay their tax, partner with the government as well as support the policies of the government, while adding that those in position of authority and others should preserve the Nation and its constitution at every given time.
The international preacher stressed that prayers should be offered to leaders in various positions in order for them to lead Nigeria aright to the part of peace, progress and prosperity.
