WARRI/Nigeria: Prime Minister of Warri Kingdom and APC leader in Delta State, Chief Ayiri Emami, has commended former Deputy Senate President, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, for his unwavering commitment to the party, describing him as the most formidable force within the Delta APC.
Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Delta South Senatorial District at Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South Local Government Area, Emami declared that Omo-Agege remains the party’s most consistent leader in the state. He emphasized the need for party unity and internal discipline ahead of the 2027 elections, warning against disloyalty and political betrayal.
“Our greatest problem is that some of President Bola Tinubu’s appointees from Delta, particularly from Warri South West and other parts of the state, have failed to identify with the party or contribute to its growth,” Emami said, urging party members to remain steadfast and not switch allegiances for personal gain.
Reflecting on the 2023 elections, Emami blamed poor leadership choices for the party’s setbacks, stating that many so-called APC leaders lacked electoral strength. “If you cannot even win your local government, how can you lead a party? We need results, not empty titles,” he said.
He accused certain APC members of working against the party’s progress, particularly those who benefit from federal appointments but align with opposition interests at the state level. “We know those who are APC in Abuja but PDP in Delta. These are the same individuals sabotaging the party,” he alleged.
Calling for a stronger party structure, Emami insisted that political appointments should prioritize true party loyalists rather than outsiders. “I ensure APC members benefit first. If you sell out your people, you’ll regret it,” he warned.
As 2027 approaches, Emami stressed the need for genuine grassroots mobilization and strategic planning, vowing to stand firm with Omo-Agege to reposition the party. “We must fix our foundation before moving forward. APC in Delta will not be built on weak structures,” he asserted.
He urged unity among ethnic groups, advocating for fair representation in political appointments. “Real leadership is about balance—one for Itsekiri, one for Urhobo, one for Ijaw in Warri. That’s how we build a stronger APC,” he said.
Emami concluded with a call for commitment and resilience, assuring party members that with unity and focus, APC could take control of Delta State and deliver real development.
