ASABA/Nigeria: The ban on fireworks this Yuletide still remains in force, Delta Commissioner of Police, Hafiz lnuwa has warned.
Consequently, CP lnuwa has vowed to invoke all extant laws with regards to the ban on fireworks.
In a statement signed on behalf of the Delta CP by the commands Police Public Relations Officer,(PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, parents and guardians should warn their wards to desist from such acts while those engaged in retailing fireworks should desist forthwith , as they are not exempt from the extant laws against use of fireworks
CP lnuwa therefore has directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers across Delta to closely monitor and apprehend anyone found engaging in the buying and selling of fireworks , no matter how highly placed
The Delta Police Chief also assured all law abiding citizens of the state of their state, urging Deltans to provide useful information to the security agencies in order to make the society crime free and peaceful during this Yuletide and beyond.
