Twenty eight years after being called to the Nigerian Bar, Delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Peter Mrakpor has hit milestones in the justice system of the state.
With the introduction of the first of its kind administration of criminal justice system in Delta state, which is the first in Nigeria, Mrapkor has written his name on the legacies of time in the Nigerian judicial system.
Transforming the Ministry of Justice from a dormant state to one of the Ministries to be reckoned with, all of this has been a product of diligence and a midas touch.
The dispensation of justice and conclusion of proceedings in matters, is one of the areas in which he has brought his legal acumen to bare.
Barrister Peter Mrakpor, has touched several lives in his personal capacity and as a Commissioner. One man who has imparted and impacted the society, without acting the script of a typical Nigerian politician who broadcast the things he does for the society.
As Attorney General, Mrakpor has helped tremendously, in the Governor Okowa’s administration, through winning litigations and helping the Governor to surmount the legal hurdles, posed by the opposition or individuals.
Just as Martin Luther King jnr had posited, that every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, Barrister Peter Mrakpor in his bid to sanitize the justice system in Delta State, has sacrificed a lot, to see that the state’s judicial system is far better than when he met it. His sacrifices, loyalty and commitment to the Okowa’s administration is unrivalled.
Having him at the helm of affairs as AG, has been a monumental blessing to the state, as he has embarked on reforms to bring Delta state to the hallmark of effectiveness in the discharge of judicial functions.
As Attorney General, he has repealed laws, and has made new ones. A man dedicated to his job, with punctuality at work like no other. A man whose imprints in the legal world has been felt in the state.
One can only conclude that he is a team player, which the Governor is proud of having in the cabinet.
Selflessly, he has preached the smart agenda message to Deltans, and will always conclude that DELTA IS IN SAFE HANDS.
The reelection of Governor Okowa in 2019 for a second term is a settled deal.
One can only imagine, the level of zenith the state justice system will attain with Peter Mrakpor as Attorney General in eight years.
