ISELE-UKU/Nigeria: The Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has charged the Batch ‘C’ stream 1 corps member deployed to the state to continue to be diligent and cultivate the spirit of rendering selfless services where ever they are posted to for the primary assignment across the state.
Dr Okowa who was represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education Engr Jude Sinebe gave the charge shortly before declaring closed the three weeks orientation course exercise at the NYSC Orientation camp Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government, adding that the zeal acquired during the orientation course exercise should guild them throughout the service year and beyond.
The governor advised the corps members to accept posting to any part of the state in good faith and endeavour to report promptly without delay just as he implored them to resist the temptation of begging for rejection from their employers.
In the same vein, Dr Okowa warned corps members not to embark on any journey without permission from the relevant authorities, even as he reminded them of the forthcoming 2019 general elections and harped on the needs to emulate their predecessors by displaying all round patriotism during the election.
He assured that government would continue to develop the facilities in the camp until all projects are completed.
Earlier in his address, the State NYSC Orientation Director, Mr Benjamin Omotade expressed his gratitude to the state government for the continuous provision of required infrastructure in the camp community, most especially the recent connection of the camp electricity to the national grid.
The Coordinator commended the corps members for exhibiting a high level of team spirit of sportsmanship, brotherhood and also a high sense of patriotic zeal which was exceptional.
